Saudi Arabia Launches HUMAIN: PIF-Owned AI Company to Drive Global Leadership in Digital Innovation

RIYADH — Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has announced the launch of HUMAIN, a new AI-focused company fully owned by PIF.

HUMAIN is set to function as a unified platform for artificial intelligence, investing across the entire AI ecosystem. It will provide a wide array of services, including advanced AI models, Arabic-language large language models (LLMs), state-of-the-art data centers, cloud infrastructure, and comprehensive AI deployment support for various industries.

Under the Crown Prince’s leadership, HUMAIN’s mission is to enhance human potential and drive innovation in the digital economy, targeting both regional and global markets. This initiative is part of PIF’s larger vision to position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in AI and the digital sector.

The company will be instrumental in fostering local innovation, optimizing data center initiatives, securing essential hardware, and accelerating AI integration in key sectors like energy, healthcare, manufacturing, and finance.

Saudi Arabia’s AI strategy has already gained international acclaim, with the Kingdom ranked first globally in the 2024 Global AI Index. PIF highlighted the Kingdom’s strategic advantages—such as its geographic location, young population, and economic growth—as key enablers for handling vast data and driving advanced research.

Through HUMAIN, Saudi Arabia aims to attract global partnerships, top-tier talent, and major investments, furthering its national goals in AI and data-driven leadership.
