Launch of Duty-Free Shop at Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport Enhances Passenger Experience and Regional Connectivity

BURAIDAH — Airport Cluster2 has inaugurated a new duty-free shop at Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Qassim, aimed at enhancing the travel experience for both arriving and departing passengers.
The newly launched duty-free outlet promises a premium shopping experience for international travelers, offering a diverse selection of high-quality products from well-known global and local brands — all at competitive, tax-free prices lower than those found in local markets.
Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport is a key gateway in the region. Since its establishment in 1964, the airport has undergone major developments and now accommodates over 1.25 million passengers annually. Located on the western side of Buraidah, the capital of the Qassim region, it handles both domestic and international flights.
The airport was officially renamed in 2012 by royal decree in honor of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz and was elevated to international status in 2017. Today, around 13 airlines operate flights from the airport, supporting the Kingdom’s efforts to enhance domestic air travel and improve regional connectivity.
In the January 2023 performance report, Qassim airport achieved first place in the fourth category of international airports with under two million passengers annually. It scored a 100% compliance rate, excelling in average wait times for both departures and arrivals — outperforming its peers in this category.
