RIYADH – Saudi Arabia celebrated Founding Day with a record-breaking achievement, earning a Guinness World Record for the largest Saudi Ardah performance. Ardah, a traditional folk dance combining rhythmic sword movements and poetry, is a powerful symbol of national heritage.
The event, held at Al-Adl Plaza in Riyadh, featured 633 performers and attracted over 50,000 visitors, marking the grand finale of the four-day celebrations from February 20-23. Festivities also included a heritage exhibition showcasing Saudi history and an interactive time travel experience.
Observed annually on February 22, Founding Day honors the establishment of the Saudi state by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1139 AH. This record-breaking Ardah reflects the Kingdom’s deep commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while embracing progress.
